Too hot for outdoors show
After latest show I came up with this opinion, that heat doesn’t help with sales of handcrafts and art, and I mean outdoor sales.
It seems that attention span is shorter, not as much of standing & chatting going on. More of a “walking through” attitude among shoppers.
Is it just me, that got that feeling?
Well, that opinion is only based on the recent show I have participated in. It was 95F-or something like that.
I know it was way to hot to just hang out, take a walk etc. I was sweating, just by standing under my tent- didn’t need to move, and if I moved around- well you can only imagine!
Maybe adding the fact that humidity was unbearably high too had something to do with overall feeling as well?
And at the end- big black cloud and heave wind motivated us to very, very quickly fold up, pack up and go!
Of course- I should mention, that it might be just me and my personal experience.
I can imagine that lemonade stand is best type of outdoor business you can have when it’s hot!
I am curious about experience other handmade artists are having during outdoor summer shows in the South?
