Quick review- Why do you need to use lens hood?

Tamron came up with this short and sweet video about using lens hood. And it just summarizes in few words- why do you need it.

As simple as it seems, there is a lot of photographer- just starting up, still on their beginners path that don’t exactly know why they have it in the box with lens and how to use it.

but you don’t NEED to use it. You get a flare if you shoot against the sun, and why would you do that? lol you’d then need a flash to have backup lighting against the sun. I’m for using minimal equipment ;)

Georgie, you’re right! :)
At the same time it’s one of those extra things, that you just can use (don’t need to) and sometimes the manufacturer even includes it in the box with the lens (so nice of them!)
