Please, allow me to share this story from fellow photographer from Etsy‘s new team of Female Photographer’s of Etsy:
A good friend of mine was recently diagnosed with bone cancer. She’s undergoing chemo now, but the treatment will also require the complete amputation of one of her legs. Oh, and did I mention that she’s only 19? She and her sister are being as brave and as strong as they can, and believe me, that’s VERY brave and VERY strong. They’re amazing, really.
So why am I telling you all of this, you wonder? Well, my friend has entered a Body by Victoria contest. Contestants have to write a little paragraph about why they love their bodies…then visitors to the website vote for them. At the end of the voting period—it ends September 14—the person with the most votes wins an amazing trip to NYC for her and a friend. Pampering galore…spa trip and the whole shebang.
And no one I know could possibly deserve something like this more than my friend Casey…someone who is so strong in the face of adversity that she can still love the body that is betraying her, the body that will soon be very changed.
